

Mike was born in Sarasota, Florida on June 19, 1930. He was named in honor of his ancestors, but was given the nickname "Mike" as a baby by his father. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lance "Sox" Booth and Herbert "Bill" Booth, and a sister, Maxine "Nan" Booth Vannais.
Mike's father was a commercia! fisherman and Mike grew up loving the water, boats and fishing.
At the age of nine his family moved to Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey where he graduated from Manasquan High School in 1948. During high school Mike was active in the Army Nationa! Guard and later served on active duty as a sergeant in the U.S. Army.
As a business executive, he worked for Commercial Credit in New Jersey, Arizona, California, Minnesota, and then for McCu!lagh Leasing in California. He retired to travel the country for a year with his wife, Patricia Bowers Thompson in their motor home before settling in Englewood, Florida.
Mike was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church, Eng\ewood Country Club, Myakka
Pines Golf Club, Englewood Elks Lodge 2378, The Fraternal Order of Eagles 3885, Englewood Moose Lodge 1933, The American Legion, and The VFW. He volunteered as a range safety officer for the Knight Trail Park.
Mike was predeceased by his first wife, Janet Carr and his second wife, Patricia Bowers
Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Conrad Selfridge and by his daughter, Dana Booth; and step-children, Ronna Thompson Eddington, Robin Thompson Rixon, James Thompson, David Selfridge, Margaret Selfridge Gramas, Tamara Selfridge Carey, Miles Se!fridge, 14 grandchi!dren, and 11 great grands.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held March 27 at 11:00 am at St. David's Episcopal Church, 401 South Broadway, Englewood, Florida. Donations can be made in his memory to St. David's Episcopal Church or the Salvation Army.
