Janis Jaworski, born Janis Lenore Barker, at her home in Springport Township, Michigan on March 31,1925, daughter of Clyde and Gyneth (Banister) Barker, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024. Family and longtime caregiver, Tatiana Ceglewska were at her side, the time of her passing.
Janis spent her youth working on her dad's dairy farm, excelling in mathematics and music. She married the love of her life, Bill Jaworski in June of 1947. They relocated to Isles of Capri (Naples), Florida where she taught school, helped with painting and finishing out spec houses with her husband, the same time as they raised a family of three. She enjoyed fishing, reading, and creating originally designed school clothes for her daughters. She was a very thoughtful, shy, quiet, and caring soul who loved animals.
Janis is survived by her two daughters, Dr. Jennifer Jaworski with longtime partner Dr. Boyd Yesler, and Valerie Mewbuorn with her husband Russell Mewbuorn, her son Craig Jaworski with his wife Jean, a grandson Ross Jaworski, great-grandaughters Mia and Peyton Jaworski.
Janis enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning food during the Michigan summer seasons. She worked as the bookkeeper and accountant for her daughter's Florida dental practice for 25 years well into her 80's.
Janis's remains will be place at the Sarasota National Cemetery along side of her husband Bill, of 73 years. Janis did not wish any formal memorial services. She would love for family and friends to plant a rose or other flower of their choice, then watch it flourish.
