Jean Dolan, 
Here I go. 
1960 I went to BC High dances. You were an upper classman. My friend Marian and I used to oogle  over the tall boys. Then there was the Boston Arena. We went there to see BC High play hockey. You were there. I had a crush on Jimmy Gormley ( hockey player from Norwood). You know him. 
Then I grew up. My daughter Jennifer was at the bus stop on Juniper Street. T and your Mom were there. We introduced each other. I was from Dorchester, Faith was from Southie. She said to me “ we’ll get together and I will bring pie. 
We got together and there we were. Jean did not remember me lol. I refreshed his memory te. Jimmy Gormely. He knew him but did not know me. 
So our kids grew bla bla bla. 
Now to 2023 Gerard reached out to me as a neighbor to tell me that his dad had a whipple? And would I comment on his Facebook for good wishes etc. Tease him about his dad looking like Whitey Bulger. He really did. 
I did one better. My hubby and myself started to text him to talk about golf and golf. I would rattle his cage often “ Whats for suppah etc. my last text to him was on
Friday the 13th. He did not answer.

Jack and Jo Ann Stapleton were so sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. Jack played golf with Jean and enjoyed his company. 
Faith was a good friend also. They are missed.

We are so sorry for your loss.  Jean was a wonderful man.  He was a wonderful and loyal friend to our father, Ralph Touch.  They both spoke of the time they first met at Boca Royale and became fast and lasting friends.  They were golfing pals, shooting buddies, and friends that enjoyed each other’s company, stories, and laughter.   He will be missed and made lasting impression on our lives.

jean gérard loved golf, it was the ultimate expression of his consummate, lifelong passion of sport and athleticism. growing up he was one of the early adopters of little leage baseball and eventually became first baseman for his high school and college. he and a friend tried out for a major league team, and were on the field with micky mantle. mantle got the nod, jean got a thank you, and continued to play league ball with his work colleagues and softball until injuries prevented him from continuing. he was an inveterate hockey player and basketball player, and picked up skiing in his middle age. however, golf started out as a way to recover from other injuries and eventually became his #1 passion. he and my mother spent their best years and best life together traveling for work and for pleasure and always finding the best places to hit the links. he tried to pass on his passion to me, and i was good with a putter and a 9-iron: i did have  one hole-in-one on a par 3 with a 9-iron, with him and a friends in the thousand islands region, yet for me golf was always a way to enjoy an afternoon with jean and faith. he left big studded golf shoes for me to follow!

Jean  and Faith were  good friends since we moved to Boca.  in 2005.
  Jean  & Tom were fellow golfers - & Faith & I were Mah Jongg players . We shared many fun times.  They came to visit us in the mountains for a wonderful weekend -  The boys played mountain golf,  and The girls went apple picking!   So Faith could bake some delicious apple pies !

Jean was a kind person! He’ll be missed!

I'm very sorry to hear of Jean's passing.  I was glad to hear that he had his family in touch with him when it was his time.
I didn't get down to Florida this winter so we didn't get to a ball game.   I'll miss that.

Hi Dolan Family, this is Sue Maloof, Jean's cousin from Massachusetts. I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. It's a very hard time but I see him finally reunited with his Faith, and I hope that brings peace to your hearts. May God bless you and your families.

Jean was a wonderful friend.  He and my husband were Besties, as well as golf buddies.  Jean had the most beautiful golf swing, which Ron so admired. Jean and Ron were true gentlemen in disposition and kindness. They are both gone now and free from pain, but I hope they'll be playing golf in their afterlife. My heart and condolences go out to Elliot and family.  Hold onto the good memories.

I am very sad to hear of Jean’s passing. A few years ago we used Chat to go back in time when we were growing up in Dedham. I went to the local high school and I think Jean went to a Catholic school but we both played American Legion baseball. We had great fun recalling the time we tried out for the New York Yankees together. Gene was a very good player and friend to many, and I’m not surprised to read he continued to touch others through his life. My condolences to everyone in the family. Rest in peace Jean, and thank you for the chance to recall the joyful memory of that tryout and those happy days of our youth.

I worked with Jean at Liberty Mutual in the late 1980s/early 1990s.  He impressed me as a warm and intelligent man who was, among other things, a patient teacher (in my case, helping this non-techie to learn IT and "data processing" concepts).  I remember him fondly, and my thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

I met Jean while working at Liberty Mutual back in the late 1980's.  I was not part of his group but we had several interactions.  Chatting one day we discovered we lived in the same neighborhood.  He helped me multiple times giving me a ride to and from work, 30 ish minute ride.   A gentleman, kind and prideful in his family and his overall life.  May he rest in peace with the saints in Light.

We were saddened to learn of Jean's passing.  Both he and Faith were such special people.  I had the good fortune to play bridge with Faith years ago, and we were always happy to include Jean at our Trivia table at Boca Royale.  He had a much appreciated dry sense of humor!  Our precious "puppy" (Capt.) Morgan was well cared for in their home many times when we traveled.

Jean was my first senior leader  when I started work at Liberty mutual. I marveled at his great speeches. A true gentleman and charismatic. He knew how to smile.  Very approachable. He will be missed.

Jean was my first boss when I started at Liberty Mutual in 1980.  We were undertaking the rewrite of an old system.  He was a wonderful man to work with/for.  I send my condolences to his family and friends.

Both Jean and Faith were our friends in Boca Royale as well as our dog, Schnapps,' sitter.  We called them "grand ma and grandpa" and Schnapps loved to go to their house.  When Jean was tooling around in the hood, he would take Schnapps and me for a ride in the golf cart.  We enjoyed sharing dinners with them and even spent a few days together in Marco Island.
  Like others who have passed, I will cherish our fond memories.

My sympathy and condolences to Jean’s family. Jean was my boss early in my career at Liberty Mutual. He was a great boss, nurturing and supportive. When I moved to a different section, my wife Barb and I remained friendly with Jean and Faith. We lost touch after a while, not counting being Facebook friends. However, I’ll always remember him as being a great guy. He’ll be missed, but now he is reunited with Faith in Heaven.

Bill and I want to express our deepest condolences to Faith and family.  Jean was a very warm kind hearted, sincere friend.  We remember what a wonderful time we had when visiting Jean and Faith in Englewood.  We had such a nice visit with them.  May Jean rest in peace, we will miss you.

Learning of Jeans passing was a surprise and disappointmebnt. Old friends who met at Liberty Mutual in Boston and moved to New Hampshire back in 1979. While there were a few of us, Jean stood out as being friendly, quiet and dependable. He and Faith were good people and great parents, Jean retired and moved to Florida to enjoy life and play golf. We stayed in touch from time to time and he will be missed. Rest in Peace my friend.

Jean was my very first boss/manager at Liberty Mutual.  I was a nervous and scared 17 year old starting what would end up being a 36 year career.  I couldn't have asked for a better boss.  I considered myself extremely lucky as he was so kind and thoughtful. Of the many managers I had at Liberty over the years he was one of my favorites and I will forever think back on those days with great memories of him.  May he rest in peace.

jean's daughter in law prepares him authentic northern italian (bologna) style lasagna, with bechamel, northern italians use bechamel sauce, not mozzarella as southern italians use.

jean's granddaughter is studying classical art in the veneto and made sketches of faith's beloved sandhill cranes for him. sadly, the framed sketches were removed in december and we're hoping to get them back in place soon!

I  turned up at the Dolan’s home with my friend Helen. I was 19 years old & Helen was 18 . We travelled from Australia and were picked up by Gerry from the airport.  We met Gerry through a student exchange program a few years earlier. We stayed, I’m not sure how long, at Gerry’s parents home, feeling incredibly welcome and looked after and being provided with great hospitality and warmth even though I’m sure I acted like a brat! We were fed well,  entertained and taken on sight seeing trips. Gerry’s parents had a big beautiful welcoming home and a lovely cat. I am so grateful for the sweet rippling entanglements of the divine kindness and acceptance laid out for us so we could be together from our worlds apart. I wish I could have said thank you in person with gracious knowledge, now that I’m older and masked with a little less entitlement.

Thank you Jean for being a man capable of creating a warm home with your family, your wife and children and sharing a safe space for us young travellers to enjoy and learn X
