John Boyd Cates met Jesus face to face on March 14, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan, daughter Sarah Brobst, her husband Gage, granddaughters Roselie and Fiona, brother Alan and MJ Cates, sister Nora and Jim Hayes, along with many other family and friends.
John spent his life loving and serving the Lord. Most recently he was pastor of First Baptist Church of Englewood where he faithfully preached God’s Word. He will be remembered as a man who truly loved his Lord, his family, his church and cars. He will be missed by all, especially those that he mentored.
Celebrations for John will be held Friday, March 22, 2024, with a 10:00 AM Visitation and 11:00 AM Funeral at First Baptist Church of Englewood, 278 South Mango Street, Englewood, FL 34223.
