

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Michelle Glenwright, of Kissimmee, her sister Nancy (Tom) Hoffarth, Nokomis FL, her brother Richard “Rick” Earl Jr., niece Andrea Imholte, Madison WI, nephew Brian (Colleen) Imholte, Andover MN, and nephew Gregory Imholte, Renton WA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marcia was born on April 15, 1947, in Morristown, New Jersey to Richard “Dick” Cobden Earl and Barbara “Bobbie” Johnson Earl.
She attended Harding Township (elementary) School in New Vernon, New Jersey.
Marcia went to Morristown High School in New Jersey for one year, and graduated from Gill School in Bernardsville, New Jersey in 1968.
She married William E. Glenwright on October 24, 1970, and moved to Albany, New York. Their daughter Karen was born in 1974 in Rochester, New York.
Divorced in 1978, she moved to Parsippany, New Jersey where she worked in banking and finance as a secretary and administrative assistant.
Marcia moved to Florida in 1993 and got a job at Columbus McKinnon as an administrative assistant and then worked for 19-1/2 years at FCCI Insurance Group in Sarasota beginning in 1996, where she particularly enjoyed United Way Campaign and special projects work.
She was active in Red Hat Ladies for a number of years. She was also a familiar fixture at the Woodmere Community Garage Sales and Englewood Sports Center sales. She could be seen at her part-time job at CVS Pharmacy from 2007 to 2010, where she became a Registered Pharmacy Technician, and at Joann’s Fabrics starting in 2010.
In recent years she worked at Bealls in Venice, and became a concierge at AdviniaCare Venice, formerly Harbor Chase.
Marcia also served as a bridge tender for Florida Drawbridge on the Intercoastal Waterway.
She was an enthusiastic participant in the Sarasota and Englewood Shell Clubs, leading shell art classes and demonstrations. Marcia enjoyed beachcombing and fossil-hunting as well as geode digging.
Her creativity was expressed in several crafter’s clubs and classes, doing beadwork, shell art, needlework, cross-stitch, embroidery, quilling, scrapbooking and card-making. She taught craft classes at Harbor Chase beginning in 2016.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a celebration of her life, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 3-5 p.m.
