Robert was a devoted husband and is survived by his wife Theresa Jean Goss with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He was a loving father to son Blaine (Kelly) Goss and daughter Karen (Don) Haberzettl.
Upon leaving Beckley Robert joined the Air Force where he was trained to be an Air Traffic Controller. After he left the Air Force he served in this career for many years in our Nation’s Capital at Reagan National Airport. Robert raised his family in Maryland and in his later years retired to Venice, Florida. Robert never liked being the center of attention but he deserves to have many years of fatherly love honored. Robert was a man of few words but was filled with kindness, generosity and endless patience. His heart was as big as the world.
His legacy includes grandchildren- Andria Cardell, Katy Goss, Bradley Goss, Carly Goodson, Brenton Goss, Kasey Goss and Sydney Thomas. He was also blessed with great grandchildren- Summer Cardell, Evie Goss, Noah Cardell, Lily Goodson and Sebastian Goss.
Robert was a blessing to everyone he knew. Few times in our lives will we be privileged to meet a man of his character and integrity. He cared for the people he loved and we will feel that effect our entire lives. He will be greatly missed.
