

Alan Edgar Fisch, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2015, in his home, surrounded by his adoring family after a short illness. Alan was born on April 30, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana when he was 11 years old. At 17, he moved to Los Angeles to attend USC, where he earned his BA in Business, Radio, Cinema in 1951. He met and married the love of his life, Dottie, at age 19. They celebrated their 68th anniversary in August.
Alan worked in the furniture business, first for his father-in-law’s company, Chicago Outfitting, and then as president of the Lawrin Lamp Company of California. Dottie and Alan raised their four sons in Los Angeles, where they lived for many years until retiring to Rancho Mirage in 1984. They relocated to Ventura, California in 2004.
Alan’s memory will be carried forward by his beloved family: wife Dottie; sons Stephen, Bryan (Carrie), Denton (Stacy), and Aaron (Marla); his revered grandchildren Ariana (Daniel Nobel), Jonathan (Abby), Brandon (Brittany Faix), Jacqueline (Zack Crain), Zoe, Callie, Abigayle, and Jason; and his treasured great-grandsons Ethan and Noah. Alan is also lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Norma and Gary Furman as well as a large circle of extended family and friends in Los Angeles, Rancho Mirage, and Ventura.
The family is especially grateful for the support of Dr. Jim Hornstein, Dr. Jeffrey Brackett, Assisted Hospice, and Ms. Sarah Valles.
Alan will always be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, the great joy of his life. He lived a life of consummate integrity, and his legacy will surely continue to have an impact on all who knew him.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, 12 noon, at Temple Beth Torah, in Ventura, followed by a graveside ceremony at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.
