Albert L. Sassoe Sr.

Albert “Al” Sassoe was born September 22, 1933 in Bisbee, Arizona. In his early years, he served in the Korean War and came back to marry his high school sweetheart, Susan Silva. They were married January 28, 1954.

Al enjoyed a great life in the transportation industry. Finally settling with a career at Yellow Freight System as Branch Manager in Oxnard, California.

For Al, his family came first. Family dinners and vacations were always his priority. He also served as Exalted Ruler at the Elk’s Lodge #2051 from 1969-1970.

Al is survived by “his beautiful wife, Susan” [as he always referred to her] 2 sons: Albert Sassoe Jr. (his wife Doris) and Art Sassoe; daughter Sylvia Miller (her husband Donnie); grandson Steven Miller (his wife Reenie); many family, friends and business associates…they will all miss him greatly.

Services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday November 17, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ventura; followed by a military honors burial at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.

In lieu of flowers, the familyasks that donations be made to The American Cancer Society.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care Charles Carroll Funeral Home in Ventura.
