Alice Vivian Warner

Alice Vivian Warner, 102, of Ventura, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013, following a brief illness. She was born August 3, 1911, in Lompoc, California, to John Augustus Drury and Mary Vignette (Lair) Drury.

Survived by her only living son, Vernon Mattocks, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, Debra Finney, Robin Chappell, Pamela Alfinito, Craig Richards, Karen Girard, Randy Foisey, Frankie Mattocks, Robert Mattocks and Michael Mattocks; 13 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving and caring friend of many years, Victor Varela whom Alice loved like her own son. Alice will also be missed by her dear sweet friend, Mary Kay Waldo of Apple Valley.

Alice was a wonderfully kind and caring person. She loved everyone she met. We all love her dearly and she will be greatly missed. Alice is now in heaven, the angels are singing and God is waiting with open arms. She is now at peace with the Lord.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 10:00am until 5:00pm at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
