Arnold Edward Peter, Jr.

Arnold Edward Peter, Jr. “Arnie”, age 83, born in Minneapolis, MN to Dr. Arnold and Mabel Peter on December 13, 1929 passed away unexpectedly at Park Manor of CyFair in Houston, TX where he resided. Arnie was a long time resident of Texas. He attended Mercedes High School, Mercedes, TX and Pan American College, Edenburg, TX and the University of Texas at Austin before making his home in Houston. He started his career as an engineer for Texas Electric Steel Casting Co and later worked as a Senior Purchasing Agent for FMC Oil and Gas. Arnie also served eight years in the Naval Reserves and was a life time member of the American Legion. He loved to read and follow local and national politics.

Arnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy of 26 years and is survived by three daughters Margaret Moore, Martha DeMeyere (Mike), and Suzanne Peter; two step-daughters Debbie McRae (Larry) and Tina Rodriguez (Pete), grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013, 6:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, California 93003, (805) 643-9977. A graveside service will take place on Friday, February 8, 2013, 11:00 A.M. at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, with military honors.
