

Chet was born on October 31, 1935, on the Morongo Indian Reservation near Palm Springs where he was raised before moving to Ventura County in 1952.
He was self-employed and owner of Western Compressor.
Spending time with family and friends was of great importance to Chet. He often traveled to Arizona to attend activities or events of family members. Chet enjoyed horses and going to rodeos.
Chet was preceded in death by his brother Roy Necochea this month. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Millie and Robert Edwards of Ventura: sister, Caroline Mahl of Ojai; nieces, Karrie Bakkila (husband, Skip Bakkila), Nancy Baker (husband, Tom Baker) of Arizona and Sharyn Matthews of Ventura; great nephew, Roy Bakkila of Arizona; great nephews, Samuel Burgess and Tommy Baker of Arizona; great niece, Erin Bakkila of Arizona and Shellie Karlsen of Ojai; nephews, Steve Mahl and Barry Mahl of Ojai; great nephews, Zack Carpenter and Jayke Mahl of Ojai; great nieces, Amanda Gray, Jennah Karlsen, and Nora Mahl of Ojai; grandson, Rick Marshall (wife Sharon of Ventura)
Visitation will take place Friday, September 2nd, 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 3, 10:00 A.M. at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Rd., Ventura, with The Reverend Gary Archer officiating.
