

Dale Clinton Walbridge, 58, of Ventura, passed away suddenly June 25, 2010. He was born May 16, 1952 in Ventura and spent his childhood years in Ojai, graduating in 1970 from Nordhoff High School, where he played basketball and was involved in the school’s drama productions.
He served an apprenticeship and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 952. He also helped farm his family’s orange orchard. In his free time his passion was sports. He played on adult basketball, softball and over-the-line teams. When time allowed, he also liked to golf and play racquetball. He was an avid follower of professional basketball, football and baseball, and loved to go to Los Angles with his family and friends to watch the Dodgers win a game. Dale enjoyed travel, over the years visiting Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico and Alaska. He will be missed by many lifelong friends and family members.
Dale is survived by his mother, Jean Barnes; brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Dorothy Walbridge; sister and brother-in-law, Carol Walbridge and Gene Meyer; nieces and nephews, Allison Marklein, Hanna Meyer and Ben Meyer; great-nephews, Zane and Kaden Marklein; aunts and uncles, Martha and Jim Raysor, and Donna and Ed Ritchie. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Walbridge.
Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 1, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Rd., Ventura.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
