

On August 3, 2015, Dennis Earl Kepner passed away at the age of 76, at home in Ventura. He was born on August 21, 1938, the second son to Gordon and Elsie Kepner of Fargo, North Dakota. Dennis had wonderful memories of his childhood on the farm. His brother, Gordon said, “Dennis was a country boy living in the city.”
Dennis joined the United States Navy in 1956, spending three years of active duty in Hawaii. Upon completion of his military service, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In 1965, he relocated to Tustin, California working for CF Cartage. Dennis eventually moved to Camarillo, where he worked for Consolidated Freight Ways, retiring in 2000.
In November of 1983, he married Glenda Dominick in Ventura, becoming a step-father to Jeff Dominick and Becky Lento. Dennis and Glenda celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary in November 2014.
Upon retiring, Dennis and Glenda enjoyed numerous visits to Las Vegas and cheering on their beloved Angels and Dodgers. Dennis and Jeff relished the time they spent together at baseball games.
He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda; his older brother, Gordon (wife, Diana) Kepner, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; nephew, Clay and Jeremy; and a great niece; step-son, Jeff (wife, Cessie) Dominick, of Simi Valley, California; step-daughter, Becky Lento, of Aurora, Illinois; grandchildren, Jake and Sophia Dominick, of Simi Valley, California, Matt Dominick, of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dominick Lento of Aurora, Illinois; brother-in-law, Terry (wife, Carol) Boller, of Grass Valley, California; sister-in-law, Tania (husband, Joe) Johnson, of Ventura, California; brother-in-law, Rod (wife, Carol) Boller, of Ventura, California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Please join the family on Saturday, August 22, 2015, from 1pm until 4pm, at the home of Joe and Tania Johnson, 7428 Marmota Court, Ventura, to celebrate and remember Dennis.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
