George M Myers

Mr. Myers was the only child of George Jefferson Myers, (deceased) and Fay Myers, (deceased).

He came to California in 1939 when his father established a chiropractic office in downtown Ventura. He was a 1947 graduate of Ventura High School.

Mr. Myers was a self-taught electronics repairman and opened his Village TV repair business in the 1950’s. He went to work for IBM Corporation in 1964 as a data processing equipment customer engineer. After retiring from IBM, he became involved in amateur radio in Ventura County. Much of his leisure time was spent making contacts with other amateur radio operators in the U.S and other countries. He made many friends through his years of association with amateur radio clubs in Ventura County.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Margaret A. Myers of Ventura, CA; sons, Ralph Myers and wife Sharon Myers of Ventura, CA, George Myers of Ventura, CA, Mark Myers and wife Kim Myers of Prescott Valley, AZ; grandsons, Christopher Myers and wife Janelle Myers of Visalia, CA, Kevin Myers; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Myers, both of Prescott Valley, AZ; brother-in-law, Charles White; sister-in-law, Mary Henderson both of Oxnard, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Myers will be remembered for always sharing his knowledge freely with others and for his wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service for Mr. Myers will take place at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road in Ventura, on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Mark Corbin Smith officiating.
