

George H. Truwe, 85, of Ventura died at home on Sunday, July 1, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Mr. Truwe was born February 12, 1927, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to George F. and Ida S. (Luedtke) Truwe. He had been a resident of Ventura County for 26 years coming from Independence, CA.
George was an Educator, Athletic Director and Coach for 30 years. He taught at Owens Valley Unified High School as well as private Christian High Schools in Camarillo and Santa Paula. After George retired, he stayed busy with various jobs. He worked for his son’s company, Petru Corporation, as a “landman” in Santa Paula.
He enjoyed watching numerous sports, especially women’s softball and baseball.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty E. Truwe of Ventura; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Ramona Truwe of Camarillo; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Greg Davy of Prineville Oregon; grandchildren, Elizabeth Truwe Aguilar (husband Josh Aguilar) of Oxnard and Amy, Krista and Matt Landing of Eureka, CA; great grandchildren, Jalen and Jace Aguilar of Oxnard.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, 1:00 P.M., at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura, with services beginning at 2:00 P.M. Burial will take place on Monday, July 9, 2012, 12:00 P.M., at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. United States Navy will render military honors.
