

He arrived in the United States as an agricultural laborer during the bracero program. Lupe traveled to several areas around the United States before settling in Old Town Saticoy. He was employed with Buena Ventura Lemon Company and the Dole Corporation. Lupe retired from the Lemon Company after more than 40 years of service.
To our father: “There are in the end three things that last: faith, love and hope. The greatest of these is love. Though our hearts hold deep sadness right now, may they also hold the blessing of love, kindness and generosity.”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delfina Claudio; son, David Claudio; parents, Jesus Claudio Flores and Dolores Jimenez; grand-daughter, Yvette Ayala; aunt’s, Refugio Jimenez and Luz Maria Juarez.
Lupe is survived by his daughters, Alma Maldonado, Lola Rodriguez, Kitty Escamilla, Yolanda Soliz, and Rosemary Frutos; sons, Daniel Claudio, Johnny Claudio, and Ted Gonzales; brother, Jose De Jesus Claudio Jimenez; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for Lupe will be held at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road in Ventura, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 5:00 P.M. with a prayer vigil beginning at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Mass to take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 10800 Henderson Road, Ventura, the following day, Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 10:00 A.M. with the Reverend Bill Bolton officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura.
