

Jack was born in Alhambra, Calif. on May 18, 1919 to Lee Lester and Viola May (Lipsey) Page. He grew up in Alhambra, graduating from Alhambra High School in 1938. Jack married his wife, Maxine Clift, on May 31, 1940. They raised their family in Rosemead, moving to Ventura in early 2007. Jack died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday morning after receiving visits from several family members and friends the previous week.
Jack was beloved by all who knew him; he was happiest when serving others. He was devoted to his family, both immediate and extended. Jack was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved Scouting, serving as a Scout Master and on committees throughout his adult years. He was also a member of Masonic Foothill Lodge No. 305.
Jack was a heavy equipment operator, a member of Operating Engineers Local 12 for 65 years. He loved his work and delighted in showing his family the projects on which he had worked. Jack enjoyed taking road trips so that he could stop and inspect any road construction he encountered along the way.
Surviving family include wife, Maxine; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and James Matheny of Ventura, Marilynn and Randall Cripe of Swan Valley, ID., Laura Gail and David Pickup of Redondo Beach; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Delight Page of Sandy, UT; sisters, Louise Reynolds of Paso Robles and Viola Baisley of Alhambra; brothers-in-law, Ronald Clift of Antioch, Thomas Clift of Vista and Gordon Bybee of Twin Falls, ID; grandchildren, Jerry Cripe and Heather Wrench of Hemet, Justin Page of Mesa, AZ, Candice, JJ and Joshua Page of Sandy, UT, Samuel Pickup of Redondo Beach; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son, John Page, Jr. and his brother, Samuel Lester Page.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the Boy Scouts of America or the LDS Church Missionary Fund.
Services will take place on Thursday, Nov. 3rd, 1:00 P.M. at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Hillside Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd., Whittier.
