

John Ferdinand Thieman, age 95, passed away peacefully July 30, 2012. John was born May 21, 1917, in Bassett, Nebraska to Anna and Ferdinand Thieman. He is survived by his wife Peggy Chabino Thieman. John’s first wife Dorothy died in 2002. He is also survived by his daughter Barbara Lowenthal, and sons Bill (Billye) Thieman and Barry (Lurina) Thieman. His only living sister Lois Osborn lives in Colorado.
John spent most of his life in California as a journeyman carpenter. He came to California during WWII to build airplanes, and later became a carpenter to build homes for returning veterans. John retired from carpentry in 1979. He spent the next twenty two years caring for Dorothy Thieman who suffered from severe depression until her death.
Peggy Chabino became his wife after they both lost their spouses in the same year. They knew each other many years through their church. His wife Peggy has encircled him with her family, making him welcome. John had hospice and care givers after his heart attack in May of this year, and his daily care by Kyle Berwick and his sister Lois Osborn is especially appreciated by the family.
John is survived by many relatives and friends who will mourn his passing. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 4, at 10AM at Charles Carroll Funeral Home. 15 Teloma Dr. Ventura, CA 93003 Phone (805) 642-8134.
