

Larry Philip Brug, 66, of Ventura died Thursday, January 26, 2012, following a brief illness. Larry was born August 18, 1945, in Ventura to Philip and Ruth Zingg Brug. He attended schools in Ventura, graduating from Ventura High School in 1963. Larry served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He was in the credit union business retiring in 1998.
Larry was an avid fisherman who enjoyed making fishing rods, golfing, and spending time with his lifelong friends at the “Fish House”. He was fortunate to have his friends’ support and loyalty to the end of his life.
Larry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda Alexander Brug of Ventura; son, Alex Brug of Santa Monica; daughter Lauren Brug and her fiancé Charles Hall of Atlanta, Georgia; father-in-law, Lauren “Alex” Alexander of Ventura, as well as nieces and a nephew in Northern California and Montana.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 2, 11:00 A.M. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, with the Reverend Dan Hull officiating. Private burial will take place at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Larry to Livingston Memorial Hospice, Ventura County Maritime Museum or to the Ventura County Museum of History and Art.
