Lester Ray Thorpe

Lester Ray "Bud" Thorpe, 71, passed away January 24, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bud was born February 1, 1946, in Ventura, CA, and lived in Ojai for most of his. He graduated from Nordhoff High School in 1966, the same year Bud was fortunate enough to marry his high school sweetheart, Donna {Timms} Thorpe.

He loved his family, BBQ's, rock collecting, and walking his dog. Bud was also quite the joke teller, and he enjoyed his 32 year career at ITI as a machinist.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna; four loving daughters, Jennifer Chrisman and her husband Kevin, Leslie Sanchez and her husband Keno, Allison Sedlak and her husband Mike, and Ashley Barger and her husband Dave; five grandchildren he loved dearly, Evan Lopez (19), Riley (11) and Peyton Sedlak (8), and Sierra (18) and Sariah Sanchez (8). He also leaves behind his brother, Larry Thorpe; sisters, Inez Russell, and Ginger Morgan; father In-Law, Donald Timms, and too many other family members to list. But, you all know that Bud loved you!

You're welcome to join us for a graveside service in Bud's honor on Friday, February 2, 2018, 12:00 P.M., at the Nordhoff Cemetery, 1000 Cuyama Road, Ojai, CA 93023. And, following the next day come celebrate "Studly Budly" with us on Saturday, February 3, 2018, 12:00 P.M., at Soule Park, 1033 East Ojai Avenue, Ojai, CA 93023. Bring your lawn chair and favorite memory of Bud to share! Food will be served.
