On Sept. 4, 1948 Lila married the love of her life, Ray Bowman. Together they shared 49 years until his passing in 1997. Lila had many artistic talents. She sewed her own clothes (making that special dress to wear to work on Fridays) she shared her talent with many friends, helping to fix that dress or pants that needed hemming. She gave her hand made aprons at Christmas and really shined at oil painting and china painting. She was so very proud of her finished products.
Lila was employed by Bank of America for 28 years in the N.C.R. Dept. She was also an avid Lakers fan and could not miss a televised game with her Dachshund “Gretchen” by her side.
Lila now lovingly leaves behind her son Gary (wife Nancy) granddaughter Shelby of Somis; son Bryan, of Ventura, who cared for her for many years always at her side and many friends at Trinity Lutheran Church; where she was a member for over 50 years. Many will remember her teaching Sunday school when the church first moved to the Ashwood location.
A special thank you goes out to Paula Andrews for her daily calls, checking to see how Lila was doing.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Fri. Apr. 13th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 196 N. Ashwood Ave. Ventura, 93003 with Pastor Dave Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Dr. Ventura, CA 93003. Phone (805) 642-8134.
