Marjorie L. James

Margie was born January 28, 1922, in Blackfoot, Idaho but spent the majority of her growing up years in Santa Ana, Calif. Shortly after World War II she and her husband Anzac (Jake) Jacobs, moved to Ventura where he founded the accounting firm of Jacobs & Jacobs along with his brother, Godfrey. After Anzac’s death in 1974 she married Dr. William James who passed away in 1993.

Margie was a very special part of the Ventura community. She loved participating in philanthropic and social groups such as the Ventura Assistance League, the Community Hospital Auxiliary and the Ventura Dance Club, just to name a few.

She continued to enjoy her family and many friends in an active life well into her later years. Margie was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Jacobs. She is survived by two sons and their families, Barry Jacobs and his wife Linda of Ventura, Dennis Jacobs and his wife Sherry of Ojai; three grandchildren, Robert, Brent and Kira; and five great-grandchildren; Bryce, Brianna, Luke, Maya and Logan.

Her family will remember her beautiful smile and indomitable spirit.

The family would like to thank Deirdre Daly and the wonderful caregivers at Autumn Years, in Oak View, for their unwavering support and kindness.

All services will be private.
