

Norma Naomi Harrel, 88, of Ventura, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 30, 2018, following a prolonged illness. She passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Bakersfield, with her loving family by her side. Norma was born September 3, 1929, in Egeland, North Dakota, to William F. Rasmussen and Hilda (Jensen) Rasmussen. She had been a Ventura County resident for over thirty years, coming from Canoga Park. Norma’s husband of sixty-four years, Jonathan, pastored Calvary Chapel of Reseda for twenty-seven years.
In addition to being a pastor’s wife and homemaker to her family, Norma spent twelve years as the head teller with Bank of America.
She was preceded in death by her husband, The Reverend Jonathan M. Harrel, Jr, in 2012.
Norma is survived by her sons, Marcus (Linda), Stephen (Noa) and Kevin (Vicki) Harrel; daughter, Karen (Michael) Davenport; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Friday, September 14th, 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 15th, at 10:00 A.M., at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen Street, Chatsworth. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15th, at 12:30 P.M., at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
