

Pauline Geneva Hoffman, 92, of Oxnard, passed away peacefully February 26, 2012 surrounded by loved ones. Pauline was born in Gunnison, Mississippi. Pauline relocated to Oxnard and secured a job at Mira Loma Airport (Oxnard) during WWII as an aircraft mechanic. She lived in Oxnard for 70 years. Pauline was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a caregiver for 10 years, and worked at Rio School District for 15 years and a daycare assistant for 11 years.
Pauline loved to work in her garden and enjoy the many birds that visited her yard. As a young woman Pauline was an outstanding basketball player and in later years a devoted Laker’s fan. She loved volunteering for girl scouts and cub scouts. She was an expert seamstress and cook. Pauline was an avid supporter of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s educational goals. She was loved and will be truly missed by her family and the many lives she touched.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Roy Hoffman of Oxnard; brother J.B. Hinton of Southaven, MS; her children Lana Jones of La Grange, CA and Gregory and Valerie Hoffman of Ventura, grandchildren Lea and James Lucas, Ventura, Chans Folger, Sacramento, Tyler Hoffman, Ventura and Genevieve Hoffman, Alameda; and great grandchildren, Shay, Kiah Phoenix and Olivia .
Funeral service will take place 10:00 A.M., Saturday , March 3, 2012 at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road. Burial will follow at the Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Roze Room Hospice of Ventura.
