Peter Alexander Lust III, beloved son and brother, died on December 18, 2013. Though he was but 25 years old, he made a lasting impression on many. Peter Alex was born with a substantial hearing deficit and facial deformity. He was followed by UCLA and used a hearing aid before his first birthday. At two, he attended the Ventura County Hearing Impaired Program at Loma Vista Elementary until he could be mainstreamed into a regular class of his peers. Peter Alex later attended Mesa Union Elementary and Jr. High. Through these early years he went through multiple procedures and therapies to help him learn sign language and to improve his verbal skills. He also went through multiple plastic surgeries. Music was a great comfort for him through all that he had to endure. Peter Alex attended St. Bonaventure High, where he was on the football team. Although he was an active player for just one year, he worked as a trainer and Coach’s Assistant throughout his entire high school time, winning several Division Championships. He also worked with the girls volley team and was a great supporter.
Peter Alex majored in Political Science at California State University, Channel Islands and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2012. He then began to prepare himself for Law School.
As Peter Alex grew older, his love and involvement in music also grew. He quickly realized that he was drawn to the guitar.
With his parent’s support and devotion, father and son made music together. Peter Alex composed all of the music, wrote all of the lyrics, sang lead vocals, and played lead guitar. His father, "POPS", played the drums. Peter Alex loved his music and loved to play with his Dad. The musical journey lasted for twenty years. They started in the living room, moved to the garage and finally moved to the state of the art recording studio that Peter Alex and his Dad had built. Their band, “The Feisty Piranhas”, became well known locally and on the Hollywood music scene. They played many live shows, often on stages with some of the nation’s top bands. Peter Alex won numerous awards, including “Best Album” of the year for independent bands. His music was powerful and was entered into the Grammy process several times. He completed four full length albums and four full length DVDs at their studio, through their own label along with his friend and mentor, artist Jens Schnabel and father “POPS”. His last, is a full length album being readied to be released in 2014.
Peter Alex touched many people through his music and had many fans and supporters who helped make his dream possible.
