

Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Robert A. Lanquist passed quietly into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015. His final days were spent surrounded by loving family and devoted friends. He was born August 30, 1940, in Ventura.
Bob was dedicated to public service, having served 29 years as a well-respected Deputy Sheriff with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. Extending his love of service, he spent his 20 years of retirement as an employee of True Value hardware store, always the first to offer assistance. Being an avid student of history, he often could be found in front of the television watching one of the numerous WWII historical documentaries. As devout Christians, Bob and his wife Jeanne could be seen every Sunday, without fail, side-by-side attending service at Bible Baptist Church in Oak View, CA.
Bob is survived by his adoring wife of 56 years, Jeanne; daughters, Jeanette Lanquist and Tanya Callahan; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Ron Riggins, Dana and Vance Thompson, Dawn and Chris Morda; sisters, Vicki Bratcher and Linda McLaughlin; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Lanquist, mother Marie Evans Lanquist, and brother Don Lanquist.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015, 11AM, at Bible Baptist Church of Oak View, 390 Old Ventura Road.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
