On Friday evening, June 2nd, Sharon Marie Mansell Loveless passed away after battling long time health problems. She was surrounded by family. Sharon was born May 10th, 1966 in San Bernardino, CA. She was a San Bernandino and Ventura County resident for most of her life.
When family and friends were asked to share a memory about Sharon, almost all responded the same, “She was a GOOD cook!” There was always a smile on their face as they answered. She began cooking at the early age of 9. Her “signature” dish is still being debated. It has been narrowed down to three different items, her Lasagna, Cabbage Rolls and a dish referred to as “Shit on a Shingle.” She enjoyed listening to Old School R&B. Several of her friends are reminded of her when they hear the song “Funkytown” by Lipps, Inc. She loved to read and enjoyed crocheting.
There was a creative side to her, she would be able to take a minimal amount of supplies and create something amazing. Give her some glue, paint, fabric and glitter and she would transform a little girl into a beautiful ballerina princess. The smile on Christina’s face was priceless as she danced and spun around the room performing her ballerina moves. Include some cardboard and aluminum foil and you would have a young boy turn into a fighting Ninja Turtle. The costume was so cool and enjoyed so much that it became part of Kevin’s everyday wardrobe.
She loved her kids, Kevin, Christina and Tyler. Tyler became her road dog. Sometimes it would be going to the park, another just to run everyday errands, and almost everyday they were able to share a little one-on-one time when they went to go pick up Christina from work. The one-on-one quality time that her and her kids spent together became treasured memories.
Sharon impacted all of our lives in one way or another. The relationship that we had with her was unique to each of us. We take what we need from it to help us grow and to better ourselves as individuals. May we all find comfort in knowing that Sharon is no longer fighting her battle. She has been restored body, mind and spirit. And that is all that we can wish for. Her mother, Virginia, and brother, Ronnie, predecease her. She is survived by her children, daughter Christina Yvette Loveless, sons Kevin Craig Loveless and Tyler John Ricketts. Brothers Frank, Ralph and Sisters Susan, Cindy and Kathy as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
