Susan Anne Ellesmere-Jones Marquez

Susan Anne Ellesmere-Jones Marquez passed away suddenly September 3rd, 2012, at the age of 54. Susan was born in Los Angeles to Peter and Marjorie Ellesmere-Jones, the second of 4 siblings. She grew up in the city of Thousand Oaks, graduating from Thousand Oaks High School.

After working for the California Fish and Game for many years, she returned to Ojai and Ventura where she married Tommy Marquez, and began to work for AAA. After many successful years, she moved to be a court processor for the Ventura County Superior Court.

Susan had a variety of interests, from ATV’s to camping, hiking, and all things done outdoors. She loved animals from an early age, growing up with horses and always sharing her home with her 4-legged family, Kaiser, Freddie, and Lilly. No one had a more contagious laugh, bigger smile, or warmer hug than Susan. Her sense of humor towards life and herself brought a smile to all those around her.

She is survived by her sister, Hilary Ellesmere-Jones Powell; brother, Christopher Ellesmere-Jones; brother, Andrew Ellesmere-Jones; brother-in-law, Dr. Douglas Lionel Powell; sister-in-law, Lori Ellesmere-Jones; five nieces and one nephew; Tommy Marquez and family, as well as many loving friends.

A “Celebration of Life” service honoring Susan will take place on Saturday, September 8th, 12:00 P.M., at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, 93003, with The Reverend Dan Hull officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura.
