Bert Lawayne Wilson

Bert Wilson on March 16 2026 at 94 years after a brief illness.

Bert is survived by his children Bradley Wilson, Trevor Wilson and Jana ( Jeff ) Jacobi. His Grandchildren Braden, Janelle, Karli, Christie, Chris, Lashanda and 7 great grandchildren. His Brother Bruce ( Sarah ) Wilson, Brother in-law Gordon Graham and many Nieces and Nephews.

Bert was predeceased by his wife Marion of 53 years. Whom he loved dearly and talked of often.

Bert was born in Biggar Sask. in 1932 the 3rd of 6 children. Shortly thereafter the family moved out west to Burnaby BC where he grew up and eventually met our mom Marion. After a few moves we landed in Vernon BC in 1975 where he spent the rest of his years.

Dad was a saw filer by trade and worked at the lumber mill in Armstrong for many years until his retirement.

Dad loved being with family especially at his favourite place our family camp at Sugar lake including lots of dinners, fishing, boating, swimming and the nightly camp fire. He loved to keep busy helping

all us kids whether building a house or rocking horse, he was all in.

He had a talent to build just about anything by looking at the material he had and the plan in is head.

Some of Dad’s hobbies included years of research and building our family tree and square dancing at the local club where he made many friends over the years.

Our family would like to thank the Doctors , Nurses and staff on floor 7 and the ER at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for your compassion and great care you gave our dad during our difficult times.

Memorial for Bert will be on April 10 2026 at 1:30 pm Pleasant Valley Funeral Home reception to follow.
