

Erin is survived by his loving wife Leanne, children Courtney (Trevor) Hudema, Tracy (Curtis) Best, six grandchildren Tavyn, Marlea, Revay, Travis, Garrin, and Anndra. Erin is the son of Earl and Marj Nelson, a brother to Cliff (Vivienne), Ralph (Deb), and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Erin worked at Consumer’s Glass for 30 years. He belonged to NONC, Friends of Fintry, and worked on Okanagan Shusway LRMP. He volunteered at the Gleaner store as well as barn tours at the Fintry Park, and was shop steward for Teamsters 213. Erin was a passionate outdoorsman; he enjoyed hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, and was avid birder, flora fauna and history buff. He willingly shared his extensive knowledge, helped with badge work in guiding, hiking along with them helping with Nite Trek setting up the route for many years. His family, friends, and acquaintances were all imparted with any knowledge in whatever endeavor they were sharing with him. He will be greatly missed by all who were touched by his life.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday December 6, 2014 at 2 PM at Lavington Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can either be made to the Gleaners, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association.
