Gerald Bruce Langton

We regret to announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather, Gerald (Jerry) Langton, on January 26th at the Vernon Hospice House. Jerry was born in New Westminster on September 28, 1931 and attended school in the lower mainland where he met and married the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Frances Jackson. Jerry attended Normal School in Vancouver and started his teaching career in Coquitlam. He moved his family to Armstrong in 1959 where he began and ended his teaching years at the red brick school. Jerry was an avid golfer, badminton and tennis player, and hobby farmer. He loved his horses and creating projects with his hands in the garden, kitchen and woodshop. Jerry is survived by his wife Frances, his daughters Jan (Richard), Ellen (Gordon), Nina (Tom) and his son, Jay (Mary) and eight grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, Megan, Heather, Ryan, Sachiko, Hana and Ben. He is also mourned by his sisters Hazel and June, his brother Fred and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at All Saints' Anglican Church, 3205 27th Street, Vernon, on Saturday, February 2nd at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.
