It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Isabella (Isabel) June Light. Isabel was a devoted wife, mother and faithful servant of the Lord. After a busy life bringing up four children, moving back and forth across the country, working as an RN and being a lifelong creator with her hands, she passed away peacefully on Feb 19, 2026, at the age of 95, in Vernon BC. Isabel was predeceased by her devoted husband, Dennis John Light, who passed away Aug 23, 2016 (married 63 years at that time). She is survived by her daughter Adrienne (Tom) Tibbles; three sons Dennis (Brenda), Bill (Julie) and Ron(Julie); nine Grandchildren Kody (Candice),Matt (Lauren), Daniel, Shannon (Steve), Alyssa (Alex),
Bennett (Christie), Pearce (Kimberly), Allie (Steve), Alana; and eight Great-Grandchildren Drake, Amelia, Brecken, Cohen, Henrik, Kennedy, Kara, Fallon. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, courage, creativity, community service, and independent family strength.
Born in Lloydminster Saskatchewan on June 13, 1930, Isabel graduated as Valedictorian of her high school class, reflecting her sharp mind, determination, and strong work ethic from an early age. She pursued a meaningful career in nursing. Isabel was never one to shy away from trying new things, whether a small household project, a new recipe, or helping others in unexpected ways. This spirit of courage and curiosity enriched her long life and inspired those around her. Talented in knitting, sewing and art throughout her life, she created beautiful handmade items, warm sweaters, cozy blankets, quilts, and clothing with patience and love. Her hands were rarely idle, and many family members and friends still cherish the pieces she crafted over the decades. Deeply rooted in her Christian faith, Isabel lived a life of devotion, regularly attending her local church wherever she lived. She participated in Bible studies, prayer groups, community outreach and serving others through quiet acts of kindness. Together with Dennis, she instilled strong values in their children, helping them to become independent, resourceful, and self-reliant. A private family memorial service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church at a future date, when Isabel will rejoin her late husband, Dennis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saints Anglican Church, Vernon, British Columbia.
Isabel will be deeply missed.
