Jessie Evelyn Hoefsloot

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jessie Evelyn Hoefsloot (nee Baker) on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the age of 98 years. Jessie passed away surrounded by her loving family. Jessie was born on January 6, 1928, in Stettler, Alberta. She grew up in Edson, Alberta, and later in Kamloops, British Columbia. A cheerful and fiercely independent woman, Jessie lived independently in Coldstream, BC, until her passing. She retired in Vernon, BC, where she remained active and engaged with life. In 1960, Jessie married the love of her life, Bernard Hoefsloot (predeceased). Together they raised two sons and created many cherished family memories. Jessie especially loved camping with her family in the Rockies, tending to her garden, and expressing her creativity through drawing and painting. Her warm smile and independent spirit touched everyone who knew her. Jessie is survived her her sons; Rob Hoefsloot of Sundre, Alberta (wife Tracy; grandchildren Michael, Ashley and Shanell; great-grandchild Aria) and Glen Hoefsloot of Kelowna, BC (granddaughters Kristen and Michaela). She will be deeply missed by all her family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 1:00pm at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home (4303 Pleasant Valley Road, Vernon, BC).
