Marg and John celebrated 60 years of marriage on Christmas Eve 2025, a milestone built on commitment, resilience, and shared determination.
She is survived by her devoted husband John; her son Vance and his children Kaden and Raya; her daughter Denise and son-in-law Don; their family Trish and Shawn, Chris and Lindsey, Jess and Jordan, Colby and Kaitlyn, and Lilienne and Lucas; and her beloved grand-puppies Sassy, Bella, and Magic.
She was predeceased by her parents and her four brothers. As the only daughter in the Yolland clan, Marg grew up knowing how to hold her own — and she did.
The daughter of an accountant, she developed an early love of numbers and followed in his footsteps, building a career in bookkeeping.
Marg was known for her generosity of spirit and her willingness to dig in and get things done. She believed in action over complaint and often said you cannot sit on the sidelines and then criticize the outcome. If something needed doing, she stepped forward.
After raising their family in Fernie, BC, Marg and John relocated to the Okanagan. They built their long-awaited log home in Parker Cove. Over the next 30 years, they became pillars of the community, contributing thousands of volunteer hours. Marg made time for newcomers, helping them settle in and connecting people for the good of the whole. When they left Parker Cove in 2022, the void was deeply felt — something made clear through the many letters, emails, and cards that followed.
Marg possessed an indomitable spirit. Through significant health challenges in her later years, she persevered with determination and resolve.
Marg knew what she wanted and how she wanted it done. She set high standards for herself and for those around her, and she did not waver from them. Her strength shaped her family, her community, and the many lives she touched.
