
in his sleep just as he had wanted on March, 11, 2011. He was
90 years old.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Elvera Mohns in 1996
and his second wife, Irene Munchaster in 2008; his brothers,
Matthew and Adam Hirsch; and one sister, Emily Kuster, and
great grandson, Jimmy Shelstad.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Gloria (Kyle) Anderson
of Vernon, B.C. , son Roger (Eleanor) Hirsch of Estevan, Sask.,
five grandchildren: Blake (Gladys) Shelstad, Daryl (Crystal)
Shelstad, Amron (Rod) Fagerheim, Alison (Richard) Marsters,
Alanah (Russel) Wollner; six great grandchildren: Eddie Shelstad,
Jade Shelstad, Garrett Wollner, Damaris Wollner, Tane Marsters
and Giona Fagerheim; two sisters, Fran Gervais, Estevan and
Anne Wilson, Yorkton; numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert was born in Lampman, Sask in 1919. He trained in
Vernon, B.C. during world War II. After the war was over, he
returned to Estevan to farm. He worked in the coal mines in
Bienfait until he purchased his farm north of Estevan. Robert
remained farming until his retirement in 1987. They retired to
Vernon, B.C. where he lived until his death.
A private burial service will be held on April 18, 2011.
