Bertha A. McEldowney

Bertha A. McEldowney, 93 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Sunday April 12, 2015 at 8:02 AM at the Versailles Health Care Center. She was born November 1, 1921 in Russia, Ohio the daughter of the late Felix & Agnes (Francis) Monnin. She was a homemaker and member of St. Denis Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Wilford “Bill” McEldowney; daughters: Rita Ann Subler, & Yvonne McEldowney; granddaughter: Joyce Subler; brothers: Homer, Henry, Forrest, Leroy, Joseph, & Forrest Monnin; sisters: Florence Gigandet, Cecilia Barhorst.

She is survived by her children & spouses: Kenneth & Janet McEldowney of Lake Placid, Florida, Norbert McEldowney of Versailles, Frank & Cindi McEldowney of Melbourne, Florida, & Ruth & Jerry Klenke of Henderson, Nevada; grandchildren: Sharon Fike, Karen Murphy, Jill Ruchty, Daniel McEldowney, Brian Klenke, Lisa Kaye Murphy, Julie Katchen, Brenda Pohl, & Ryan Subler; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters: Eleanor Grillot of Webster, Ohio, Loretta Bey of Versailles, & Mary Louise Curtis of Chicago, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday April 16, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church 14 East Wood Street, Versailles, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Jim Simons Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday April 15, 2015 and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Thursday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may given to State of the Heart Hospice.
