

Mary was born on December 6, 1949, in Coldwater to the late Albert J. & Marie F. (Lange) Pottkotter. Mary was also preceded in death by her brother Cyril Pottkotter; brothers-in-law, Jerry May, Fred Condon, and Jacque Barga; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Pottkotter, Bernice Barga, Laura Barga, and Marilyn Barga.
Mary is survived by her husband of 51 years, Michael L. Barga whom she married December 28, 1973; children, Renee & Tony Luthman of Ft. Loramie, and Jeff & Hollie Barga of Versailles; grandchildren, Tyler Luthman, Katie Luthman, Hannah & Gabe Philipps, Dominic Barga, and Damien Barga; great grandson, Tate Philipps; siblings, Ralph Pottkotter of Celina, Henry & Rita Pottkotter of Coldwater, Lou Ann May of St. Henry, Roger Pottkotter of St. Henry, Donna & Mike Subler of Versailles, Paul & Janet Pottkotter of St. Henry, and Darlene Pottkotter of Ft. Recovery; in-laws, Roberta Condon of Greenville, Marilyn & Robert Shockman of Versailles, Jim Barga of Michigan, and Dennis & Nina Barga of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary retired from Tigereye Design. Mary was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles and Versailles American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for over 20 years and served as Past President. In 2018, Mary dedicated herself to the Virgin Mary Schoenstatt. Mary loved spending time with her family and watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. She enjoyed shopping trips on the weekends, dancing, and Karaoke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, October 27, 2025, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Ned Brown celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held sometime in December. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County.
