Norbert McEldowney

Norbert was born on November 16, 1945, in Miami County to the late Wilford & Bertha (Monnin) McEldowney. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Yvonne McEldowney in infancy and Rita Subler; and brother, Kenneth McEldowney.

Norbert is survived by his sister & brother-in-law, Ruth & Jerry Klenke of Henderson, Nevada; brother & sister-in-law, Frank & Cindi McEldowney of Melbourne, Florida; sister-in-law, Janet McEldowney of Lake Placid, Florida; brother-in-law, Bruce Subler of North Star; and 9 nieces and nephews.

Norbert served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors in Dayton. Norbert was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, Knights of Columbus, Versailles Eagles, and the Versailles V.F.W.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. James Reutter celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Versailles Veteran’s Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
