Robert A. Blankenship, age 75 of Houston, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his residence. Robert was born in Troy on September 23, 1950, to the late Robert “Body” and Wilma (Pittenger) Blankenship.
He is survived by his children, Ginger Blankenship of Bainbridge, Ohio and Austin Blankenship of Houston; his grandchildren, Hayley Cooper, Kara Free, John Free and Valencia Blankenship; his great granddaughter, Kaylee McGraw; his sibling, Brenda (Dan) Arlington, Debby (Jeff) McCormick, , Joyce White, Kandi (Tom) Shipman, Larry Blankenship, Bill (Maureen) Blankenship and Pam Chavis as well as numerous nieces, nephew, extended family members and friends.
He was a 1968 graduate of Newton High School in Pleasant Hill, Ohio and then served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was wounded on March 3, 1971, in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He enjoyed taking his dog Roxus walks around Blanky’s Mountain.
