Warren Gene Hoenie

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Warren Gene Hoenie, 90 of North Port, Florida on January 11, 2026, at Otterbein St. Marys. He was born on July 30, 1935, in Celina, Ohio to the late Raymond and Mabel Hoenie. He is survived by Nancy Sturgeon Hoenie whom he married on January 26, 1957.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Gerald Hoenie. He is survived by Scott and Kim Hoenie of St. Marys, Ohio, Brian and Joette Hoenie of Statesboro, Georgia, Julia and Robert Jennings of Waynesfield, Ohio, Shelley and Nick Vanderhorst of St. Petersburg, Florida and beloved 9 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.

Family meant everything to Warren. He loved riding his bike, golf, cards, horseshoes, and board games. We will forever cherish the memories we shared. He had a kind soul, a generous heart, and a way of making everyone feel at home.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Discovery Commons, North Port, Otterbein St. Marys, and Universal Home Health and Hospice Care for their compassionate care and kindness.

Per his wishes there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
