Alice was born December 2, 1922, in Grand Prairie, Alberta to Robert and Annie Kater. During her life, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, rock hounding, gardening, and loving her pets. She was a talented seamstress and crafter, which was an asset to the many charities she supported and to her family who has fond memories of the many graduation dresses and dance costumes she made. Alice and Pat belonged to the Victoria Lapidary and Mineral Society, enjoyed many trips in their motorhome, and rock-hounding with their dog.
Alice is predeceased by her brother Bob Kater (1942), her husband of 66 years, Pat Strong (2009), and her sister Annie Gray (2019).
She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Judith Davies (Sid Snaith), and Wendy Taylor (Bill Allen). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Alesha (Ross) Fowlie, Gordon Davies, Brady Taylor (Jimbo), Patrick (Jodi) Taylor, and six great-grandchildren, Rhiannon (Brock), Zackery, Evan, Cassandra, Maegan, and Alexander.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at AgeCare Glenwarren, and a special thank you to Dr. Vaughan for the care they gave our mom while she resided there for the last years of her life.
A private family celebration of life will take place on Friday, December 2nd at First Memorial Funeral Services.
