Following a courageous and determined battle, Art passed away peacefully surrounded by his much-loved family.
Left to honour his memory are his devoted wife of 52 years, Shirley, sons Sean (Pinky), Jeremy (Nicole), and grandchildren Katthen, Serenavai, Rhaine and Haiven. He also leaves behind his favorite sister Christine (John), dear aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Art’s career with the Canadian Hydrographic Service spanned 30 years leaving him with many special memories and good friends. Art was dedicated to his community volunteering throughout the years at the Veterans Memorial Lodge, Goldstream Hatchery, BC Air Museum and the Knights of Pythias to name a few.
The family sends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. MacNaughton, Dr. Brooks and all the professional and supportive nursing teams for their incredible care over several years.
Art will never be forgotten. We will carry him with us in our hearts and in our treasured memories.
The family is respecting Art’s wish that there be no formal service. They are extremely grateful to all who have offered support and condolences.
Those wishing to honour Art’s life may consider sending a donation in Art’s memory to the BC Cancer Agency (Victoria) or the Canadian Myeloma Research Group.
