Predeceased by her husband Evan, and brother John (Adele), she is survived by her daughters Christine (Gray) and Colleen, grandsons Evan, Kyle, Austin, Morgan and Will, great grandson Vincent, brother Larry (Coleen), brother-in-law Jim (Jackie), one nephew and three nieces.
Born and raised in Victoria, Barb attended Esquimalt High School. As a young girl she excelled in gymnastics and was a member of the Victoria girls drill team. After high school she worked at Jimmy Little's where she met the love of her life, Evan. They married in 1965 and two years later started their family.
Throughout her life Barb was very creative; whether she was sewing, crafting, or baking she impressed us all with her accomplishments. She was committed to health and exercise and was a great role model for her daughters. She was an avid member of the YMCA for close to 40 years where she forged many friendships.
Barb was most content when she spent time with Evan, her husband of 44 years. Whether they were camping and fishing at Costa Lotta or wintering in Rincon de Guayabitos after Evan retired, she always had a smile on her face.
Beautiful on the inside and out, her roles as wife, mother, and homemaker were of utmost importance to her and enviable to all who knew her. Her entire family and large circle of friends meant everything to her and she was unconditionally devoted to each and every one of them. She had remarkable relationships with each of her grandsons who all adored her.
Barb created the most beautiful life for her family and herself and she will be beyond missed by her entire family.
We thank everyone who gave us support over the past few months. She was grateful to all the incredible healthcare professionals involved in her care, especially Dr. Silvia Schriever, Dr. John Samphire and everyone at the Cancer Clinic.
There will be no formal service by request, but family and close friends are invited to her home on May 2, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm.
