He is survived by his wife Beryl, daughter Cara (Denis), siblings Margaret, Marion, Fred (Marie), Ruby, Barbara (Mike), Rebecca (Abe), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Isaac and Elizabeth Schartner, and sister Emma.
Carl was born in Warmen SK, and grew up in Dalmeny. He and his wife moved to Victoria in 1970, and called the island home ever since.
Carl spent most of his working years as a truck driver. He had a very strong work ethic which followed him into retirement, keeping busy and having projects on the go.
Carl's work is done, may he rest in peace.
