He was a man of many talents and all trades—a true artist and problem solver. As a logger, a race car driver, a welder, a painter, and a builder, his hands, quick-witted humour, and love shaped his own world and ours.
He built houses, created a successful wrought iron business, and had an unmatched ability to fix anything. Alongside his wife, he managed their beauty salons over decades before taking on the role of managing Bosun’s Marina— a job perfectly suited for his love of the water and deep connection to Shawnigan Lake, where he lived for much of his life. It was in Shawnigan where he also found some of his greatest joy in teaching countless friends and family to waterski behind his boat with endless encouragement.
Chub is predeceased by his son Ronald.
He is survived by his loving wife Bobbi, his children Jack, Kerri, and Susan, his granddaughters Carlie, Chantelle, and Lauren, and great-granddaughter Vienna.
Chub’s legacy is not just in the things he created but the love he shared. He will be missed immensely by his family and everyone who was privileged to know him.
A private celebration of Chub’s life will be held at a later date.
