Our beloved Daryl Fred Hayward passed away peacefully on March 12, 2024, at the age of 80. Daryl is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann, two sons, Todd (Sarah) and Scott (Michelle), and four wonderful grandchildren, Cooper, Baxter, Oliver and Ellie.
Daryl was born in Vancouver and lived as a child on a farm in Jarvie, Alberta. His career took him to Winnipeg, where he & Mary Ann started their family, then to Vancouver and ultimately to Victoria in 1975. Daryl loved his family and he was a very involved father. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, traveling, golfing, walking, attending car shows, volunteering at the SPCA, delivering meals and reading books to veterans, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
A formal funeral service will not be held at Daryl’s request; however, his family will hold a celebration of life in the coming months. Daryl loved dogs and he has requested that donations be made to SPCA in lieu of flowers or other gifts.
