Born and raised in Brentwood Bay, predeceased by his father Frank Jerome in 2006 and mother Shirley Margaret in 2019. David passed at SPH having just had a nice chat with the nursing staff he was so fond of. He was a familiar face around Saanich in his old white truck and more recently his Ford Escape. If you had a question about local history , weather patterns , old farming residents , the zoo that operated up the hill, cars and animals especially dogs he was your go to. David was also the memory keeper in our family and is already sorely missed. Every day I find something I want to ask him.
He had a rough year and covid was the final battle his body wasn't able to fight although we did think he might just surprise us as he did so many times.
He and we were enormously grateful for his wonderful team of Dr’s , the amazing nursing staff at SPH, the lovely Caregivers from Coastal Health especially Vanessa who was always there , all the ancillary experts who supported him and of course the lifelong friends he would often talk about. A Special thanks to Gavin who has been a rock and to Joe who acted with me to take care of his affairs over the last 7 years and the rest of the family who supported us. We talked everyday - I miss him. Leslie is David’s first cousin.
A Tea to follow in the spring.
