Dorothy passed away in her sleep on Oct 23. Predeceased by her husband Peter, and 6 Broadfoot siblings. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her children; David (Linda), Heather, Paul (Stephanie), Don (Katherine) and seven grandchildren; Erin, Leigh, Alex, Andie, Adrianna, Leandra and Dylan and one great grandchild, Bruce.
Born in Saskatchewan, Dorothy studied to become a Registered Nurse in Vancouver B.C. Here she met her husband Peter and started a young family.
They soon moved to Calgary with their first baby in tow, when Peter decided to get involved in the Oil and Gas industry. They both had a wonderful life having lived in Vancouver, Calgary, Bermuda and finally settling down in Victoria. They travelled the world seeing many fantastic places but always spent their summers at their cabin on Savary Island and became long time snowbirds chasing the sun to Palm Desert. Dorothy became an avid golfer, she was a member of various golf clubs, and couldn’t seem to get enough of the sport, she just loved and became proficient in all sports she undertook like tennis, water skiing, snow skiing, fishing.
Dorothy was a passionate bridge player and like everything she undertook, she pursued the highest recognition by becoming a Life Master in Bridge at an early age. She would enjoy playing the game at Savary Island with friends, or in a more formal setting at her golf clubs. Dorothy was proud of her children and grandchildren and wanted nothing but the best for them. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
