It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Edward Choo, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend on February 5th, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Marlene. Ed will be immensely missed by his wife Asia, his children Sealey, Pearl, and Dash, his siblings Sue (Philip), Karen (Dan), and Tom, in-laws Donna, Kent, and Carlyn, best friends Marcy (Darren) and Don, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ed was an intelligent man with a keen eye and a wealth of knowledge. He often had a project on the go, where every little detail would be meticulously planned out.
Ed was a hard worker and a dedicated employee. After spending decades in the grocery game he decided it was time for a new career. He spent the last 4 years working at the University of Victoria as a Facilities Management supervisor. He was very happy to be building his career at Uvic where he was appreciated and respected by his colleagues.
His passions included cars, photography, and all things gadgety (especially flashlights). In his downtime, you could find him out and about playing Pokemon Go. A big thank you to the Gordon Head Pokemon Go community for your support, generosity, and well wishes.
As a younger man you would find him cruising in his Mazda RX-7, piling up speeding tickets. He loved his car but as he matured he traded it in for the minivan life.
Ed loved his kids so much and was looking forward to the days where he could teach them how to drive. He was a master fort builder, expert lego gun builder, and also enjoyed midnight stargazing sessions with his girls.
Thank you to Dave at First Memorial for your kindness and empathy. You helped make a dark time just a little brighter.
A Celebration of Life may occur at a future date.
