Gab was born in Rastatt Germany; she was adopted at age 2 by her parents Ruth Marie Anthony (dec. 2022) and Robert Edmund Beer (dec. 2015). After several years living on RCAF bases in Europe and Canada, the family returned to Halifax, where Gab spent her school years before moving to Toronto to complete her education at Ryerson University. She lived in Toronto then Haliburton for many years, making many good friends she remained in contact with until her death. In 2000, she moved to Victoria BC to be closer to family.
She leaves to mourn her sister Carla (Richard), nieces Mary Kate (Roland) and Theresa (Ethan), aunt Marion Jones as well as many cousins across Canada and the USA. She also leaves a community of friends whom she loved and who will miss her deeply. She had a special love for animals and always had a cat companion whom she cherished and spoiled.
